What kind of GPS do I need?

The Nautical Maps software for Windows works with virtually any GPS module (or antenna) that supports the NMEA protocol and is connected to the PC via a USB cable. Install the driver or the driver software that comes with the GPS module and is compatible with your version of Windows. We don’t recommend using a wireless GPS module.

To purchase an external GPS module for your tablet or PC, click here: GNS-3000. Choose a model that can be connected with a USB cable. There are also special versions with a longer USB cable, suitable for installation outside on the mast or railing.

In addition, the Windows software can use a GPS module that is connected to the on-board network via TCP.
