Can the Windows software receive AIS?

The Nautical Maps app provides the option to receive AIS while also displaying your current position to other users. We call this function AIS+ because in addition to the standard AIS view, you will also see other users of the app. You do not need any external hardware to receive AIS+. However, a stable internet connection is necessary to receive the AIS+ picture.

We are also working on the option to connect the app to your transponder or on-board network for our users who already have AIS on board. We expect to be able to offer this functionality in our app by mid-2023.

Please note: the AIS+ function is currently only available for the Netherlands.

AIS and the Windows version
Nautical Maps for Windows can be connected to an AIS Receiver or Transponder if it is connectable to the PC with a USB cable, or if it can be connected to the on-board network via a TCP connection.
